about
RAVEN IRABOR is a Director, Creative Director, and Visual Artist whose work captures the beauty, depth, and nuance of culture. Born in the Bronx to Trinidadian and Nigerian parents, she weaves narratives that examine diasporic identity through shared cultural expressions—ranging from the elegance of adornment to the influence of folklore. With a distinctively feminine and stylized approach, Raven’s work spans the commercial, fashion, art, beauty, lifestyle, and culture industries, characterized by portraiture, collage, installations, and magical realism.
Her practice spans directing, creative direction, and cultural programming, grounded in storytelling that centers emotional presence, culture, and collective experience. Raven brings a research-driven, visually intentional approach to her work, creating projects that balance conceptual rigor with clarity of execution. She has directed and curated for brands including Meta, Walmart, InStyle Magazine, Roc Nation, and Paramount Studios, with work featured by Vogue UK, Hypebae, and ARTSY Magazine. Her exhibitions, including Last Night I Cried… Unveiling Liminal Spaces and Black in Every Color, alongside screenings at festivals such as the Los Angeles Fashion Film Festival and Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Film Festival, reflect a growing body of culturally rooted, community-centered work.
As the founder of RAE Studios, Raven champions culturally authentic storytelling that resonates with contemporary audiences. With nearly a decade of experience in media and advertising, she approaches projects with a collaborative, strategy-minded perspective, bridging creative vision with production expertise across brand, editorial, and artistic contexts.
Raven is also an engaging speaker, sharing her insights at events like Black Women Photographers’ Being Inclusive panel and NVE Experience Agency’s Creative Women of the Diaspora. Through her public engagements and artistic practice, she remains committed to uplifting Black and diasporic artists while contributing to a more thoughtful and inclusive creative landscape.
